Sivananda’s Ten Commandments 

1. Practice truthfulness, non-violence, celibacy.  
2. Be good, do good.  
3. Be tolerant.   
4. Be kind to all.  
5. Serve all; Serve the Lord in all; love all   
6. Share what you have with others   
7. Give, purify, meditate, realise.   
8. Think rightly, act rightly.   
9. Behold the one Self in all. See God in every face.  
10. Feel “I am the all-pervading, Immortal Self”.

Final Teaching of Swami Sivananda 

Purify your heart through selfless service, be devoted to the Lord and obtain his grace, through japa (repetition of God’s name), kirtan (chanting), prayer and self-surrender. Practise asanas (postures), pranayama (yoga breathing), etc.  
Abandon egoism, desire, anger and greed.  
Control all the senses.  
Cultivate discrimination and dispassion.  
Practise the four means.  
Hear the srutis (scriptures).  
Reflect and meditate ceaselessly.  
You will attain Self-realisation. 

Universal Prayer of Swami Sivananda 

O adorable Lord of Mercy and Love! 
Salutations and Prostrations unto Thee 
Thou art Omnipresent, Omnipotent, Omniscient 
Thou art Satchidananda. (Existence-Consciousness-Bliss-Absolute)
Thou art the Indweller of all beings.

     Grant us an understanding heart, 
     Equal vision, balanced mind, 
     Faith, devotion and wisdom. 
     Grant us inner spiritual strength 
     To resist temptation and to control the mind. 
     Free us from egoism, lust, greed and hatred. 
     Fill our hearts with divine virtues.

Let us behold Thee in all these names and forms. 
Let us serve Thee in all these names and forms. 
Let us ever remember Thee. 
Let us ever sing Thy Glories. 
Let Thy Name be ever on our lips. 
Let us abide in Thee for ever and ever.
